The Auction at Graceland Elvis memorabilia January 7th 2017

Once again, The Auction at Graceland is on with a collection of very unique and rare Elvis artifacts and memorabilia up for grabs.

The Auction At Graceland, which starts at 2:00 PM CST on the 7th, has more special Elvis items than ever! Elvis was involved in so many different pursuits and his life touched so many people that there are many important items still left at the Graceland estate for auction. With the help of Invaluable, fans have the chance to own part of his legacy.

Lot 61: Elvis Presley Gold and Diamond Ring

Estimated Price: $10,000 - $15,000

The offered ring emanates from Charlie Hodge. It was purchased in the early 1980's along with 11 other rings and the original box in which Elvis kept them when he gave them to Charlie.

Lot 126: Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley Signed Divorce Document

Estimated Price: $5,000 - $7,000

Their love was legendary and their parting was amiable, as evidenced in this one-page Supplement to Property Settlement Agreement in which assets are divided. According to the document, Priscilla is to receive $100,000 tax-free and should any claim be made against this sum, Elvis has agreed to be liable. This agreement is dated August 15, 1972, and framed with two images of Elvis and Priscilla leaving the Santa Monica courthouse the day their divorce was final.

Elvis Merchandise Auction at Graceland August 13th 2015

Lot 85: Elvis Presley Jacket from the Viva Las Vegas Dance Scene with Ann-Margret (see above)

Estimated Price: $30,000 - $50,000
The offered jacket is one of two created by Sy Devore, noted Hollywood wardrobe designer, for Elvis Presley to wear during this now legendary dance scene with Ann-Margret in the 1964 MGM classic Viva Las Vegas.

Lot 118: September 11, 1970 Elvis Presley "In Person" Concert Poster

Estimated Price: $4,000 - $6,000

Used to promote stops on Elvis Presley's September 1970 tour, these venue-specific posters are few and far between, especially in such an exemplary state of preservation. In true Colonel style, the upper portion, graced by Elvis' iconic portrait, was kept purposely generic and was printed on lighter weight paper in greater quantities. These could be used or sold anywhere Elvis was touring.

Lot 112: 1970 Elvis Presley Signed Oversized Concert Souvenir Photo

Estimated Price: $2,000 - $4,000

This rare 1970 promotional photo has been signed by Elvis "To Diane Best Wishes Elvis Presley." Always the conscientious singer, Elvis saw fit to find the lightest area of the photo leaving a very readable result.

Jukeboxes...a short history and guide...part one

"Cheap bars playing lively jazz and blues music were called "jook-joints", and therefore an instrument out of which music emitted was, defacto, a "jook-box"..

I found this article in a Collectors magazine and thought it was interesting and very appropriate for this blog. For those of us who are old enough to remember the original jukeboxes, they were a great source of entertainment and kept us amused for many a night. It wasn't only the music that was pumping out of them but the physical appearance also made them an iconic and cultural part of our lives. Thankfully they have survived over the years, with a few modern technological improvements and modifications, and are now collectible items.
